First Alert: Record heat again today
Temperatures are running 5 to 12 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. We’ll see those temperatures soar once again this afternoon under mostly sunny skies to record levels.

Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain over portions of the Koolau mountains, central Oahu, and along the shoreline in leeward Oahu.
Fire weather with very strong winds and very dry air continues. South winds have been gusting over 50 mph at times. Blowing dust has created issues on the roads due to impacts to visibility. There is also a lightning threat late afternoon and early evening.

There is an elevated fire risk today due to the breezy conditions and ongoing drought. Winds will be calmer on Thursday. It will also be sunny and warm in the mid-70s. Southerly winds return on Friday, bringing much warmer and more humid conditions over the weekend.
