The Weather Channel says Hurricane Isaias is expected to strengthen to at least a Category 2 hurricane by Thursday night.
Hurricane Isaias remains a Category 1 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center's 10 a.m. CDT advisory Thursday. Isaias has maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. The hurricane is expected to strengthen as it moves toward the northern Gulf Coast.

One to 3 inches of rain, with localized amounts up to 5 inches, are possible across much of the Southeast as far north as the Tennessee Valley and the Carolinas, the NHC says. Flash and urban flooding, along with isolated river flooding, will be possible.
Isaias expected to lash the Gulf Coast and bring rain and storm chances to the Ohio Valley.
