A volcano on Japan’s major western island of Kyushu had multiple eruptions on Sunday, sending a plume of ash almost three miles into the air.

Several hundred people have been evacuated after a large volcano eruption in Indonesia that also prompted an aviation warning in Australia.

An article Tuesday posted by The Daily Mail titled ‘America’s deadliest volcano enters unprecedented 72-hour tremor phase as eruption threat looms over millions’ has garnered attention online, but it is not entirely accurate.

One video captured the "avalanche" of ash tumbling into the valleys below, whilst additional footage showed plumes of smoke rising high into the atmosphere.
