On Wednesday at 9:51 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement until Thursday at 3 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango,
Light rain and drizzle will spread across portions of Michigan Thursday as a weak weather system moves through the region. The most significant precipitation is expected in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Michigan.
The National Weather Service has continued multiple Winter Weather Advisories. The San Juan Mountains could collect anywhere between 4 and 8 inches of snowfall in 24 hours. The alert went into effect at 11 p.m. on Wednesday and expires at 11 p.m. on Thursday. Hazardous travel over Wolf Creek Pass and in the surrounding areas is expected.

Winter is right around the corner for North Texas. Several weather organizations have released winter outlooks over the past few months, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center.
